normal gray
If only the road would go ever on
While I watch the night fade into the day
As the sun rises I would not miss my bed
Almost sadly, simply I would make my way

The memories were falling like spring rain
But the streets were, surprise, covered in snow
I remember why from this place I had fled
But it always looked so nice in this glow

Sharing the substance that makes life possible
Filling our bellies with something to eat
Between bites, I speak, loosing you, pressing on
Crestfallen I stumble, but I don't miss a beat

I smile and nod, all bows and meekness
Pausing to look at the books on your shelf
Stunned amazement at how well you're read
Musing how I would like you for myself

Ignoring your coldness I would warm your hand
Such boldness, despite your caution, I would dare
Though I would feign kiss your soft lips instead
My design, my rhyme, futile, as you don't care
